Mitt namn är John-John Johnsson och jag är innehavare av Sejpejos kennel som ligger i Älmhult i södra Sverige. Älmhult är för övrigt den plats på jorden där möbeljätten IKEA såg dagens ljus.

Man kan säga att jag är uppvuxen med Sejpejos kennel eftersom den startades 1989 av min far och äldre bror och då med inriktning på Kuvasz.

Vi var först med att importera Kvkazkaja Ovtjarka till Sverige, men insåg att detta inte var en ras som passade oss. Istället hade vi fått upp ögonen för ytterligare en ny ras, och 1998 så importerade vi vår första Cane Corso hane ifrån Ungern, Cirano El Corso.

Sedan har vår kärlek för rasen vuxit sig starkare och vi har importerat hundar ifrån Italien, Tjeckien, Polen, Ungern och Holland. Men vi har även exporterat egna uppfödningar till Tjeckien, USA och Holland.

Sedan något år är jag ensam ägare till kennel, och som sagt, kärleken till rasen kvarstår och jag känner att jag har hittat min ras. Men det betyder inte att jag inte är öppen för nya raser i framtiden. Jag har redan en som jag är intresserad av…

Eftersom jag i grund och botten är utställnings människa så är det det jag har lagt mest tid på. Jag är utbildad FCI domare på Cane Corso, Pyrre och Leonberger, samt att jag håller på att utbilda mig på en ras till, Kuvasz.

Men att hålla på med hundar är så mycket mer, och jag har börjat med både lydnad och agility just för att jag har en ras som passar inom så många områden.

När man har hundar så är det inte bara dom som man engagerar sig i, utan även i föreningslivet. Jag har varit medlem av styrelsen i Småland Ölands Kennelklubb, men även varit aktiv inom specialklubbar och utställningsansvarig i ortsklubben. Jag har även haft förmånen att vara en av 30 personer som har utbildat utställningsarrangörer för Svenska Kennelklubben.

Mitt motto som uppfödare är att föda upp friska hundar som klarar ett socialt liv i dagens samhälle, och skulle de dessutom följa den Italienska rasstandarden så blir jag extra nöjd.

Som valpköpare hos mig så får du den hjälp när du vill ha, när du frågar efter den.

En Cane Corso är en hund som älskar att vara med sin ägare oavsett var det är någonstans. I CC´n ser jag en hund som passar många. Även om den tyr sig till sin ledare så är det en hund som snabbt blir hela familjens kelgris. Men man måste veta redan innan att det är en stor hund, som kräver en fast hand i sin uppfostran. Som CC ägare bör man absolut inte vara en soffpotatis utan ge hunden den motionen som den dagligen behöver.

För att vara den typ av hund som CC´n är så är den lättlärd. Genom min erfarenhet från många egna hundar av rasen så finns det ingen aggresivitet, varken mot människor eller mot andra hundar. Detta grundar jag på de 10-15 hundar som vi har importerat som unga, eller vuxna. Under hela tiden som vi har haft Cane Corso så har vi haft mellan 2 till fem hanar ihop, både i skogen eller hemma på gården utan några problem.

Jag har många idéer inför framtiden, båda vad det gäller kenneln, mina hundar och mig själv. Jag har bara börjat och framtiden ser underbar ut…vill ni följa med?

My name is John-John Johnson and I am the owner of Sejpejos kennel, located in the heart of Småland in the south of Sweden. To be more precise, Älmhult, the birth place of IKEA.

You could say that I was brought up in the whelping box since the kennel was started by my father and older brother in 1989. At that time the breed of choice was Kuvasz.

We were the first to import Kvkazkaja Ovtjarka to Sweden, but realized that this was not a breed that suited us. Instead we turned our eyes toward yet another new breed, and in 1998 we imported our first Cane Corso, Cirano El Corso, a male from Hungary.

Since then our love for the breed has grown stronger and we have imported dogs from Italy, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Holland.

We have also exported our own breeding to the Czech Republic, USA and Holland.

Since about a year now I am the sole proprietor of the kennel, and as previously stated, the love for the breed remains and grows and I feel I have found my breed. However, that does not mean that I am not open to new breeds in the future. I have actually already one in mind. We have to see what the future brings.

Because I am primarily a show dog person, that is what I have spent most of my time and energy doing. I am a certified FCI judge for Cane Corso, Chien de Montagne des Pyrénées and Leonberger, and I am also well on the way of being certified for yet another breed, Kuvasz.

But living with dogs is so much more, and I have started both obedience and agility training. Mostly because I have got a breed that is well suited for the many different areas in dog sports.

When having dogs, that is not all there is to it, it is also the engagement in the clubs. I have been a board member of the Småland Ölands Kennel Club, but also active within special clubs and responsible for dog shows in the local club. I have also had the benefit of being one of the 30 people that educate dog-show organizers for the Swedish Kennel Club.

My motto as a breeder is to breed healthy dogs that cope with a social life in today’s society, and if they follow the Italian breed standard I will be more than happy.

As a puppy buyer you will get the help and guidance from me, whenever you ask for it.

A Cane Corso is a dog that loves to be with its owner regardless of where that is. I see the CC as a dog that suites many. Even though it is a breed that chooses one leader it is a dog that will quickly become the darling family pet.

But you have to be aware of the fact that the Cane Corso is a big dog, a dog that requires a firm hand and a stable upbringing.

As a Cane Corso owner you should also not be a couch potato but give the dog the exercise it needs daily.

Taking in consideration the type of dog the Cane Corso is, it is a very quick learner. Through my experience of the large amount of dogs I have had there is no aggression within the breed, not towards people or other dogs. I base this on the 10 to 15 dogs we have imported as both youths and adults. During this time we have had between 2 to 5 males together, both in the woods on walks and exercising and at home in the yard without any trouble what so ever.

I have a lot of ideas for the future, both when it comes to my kennel, my dogs and myself. I have only just begun and the future looks wonderful... Do you want to join me?
